modern gaang
well, even though Mai is not exactly a part of gaang and there is no Suki. I just started drawing it with Zuko, and apparently Zuko turned out holding Mai and I continued drawing them together. Tokka is not supposed to be a couple here..or maybe it is.. I am evil, who knows:DI figured there won’t be anything bad, if I will actually keep Aang’s arm tattoos:3 And Sokka with his hair down, because Sokka is hot with his hair down
though I didn’t quite manage to make him hot here.but I love his t-shirt:DZuko.. I guess Zuko would pretty much wear hoody almost all the time, and in a way trying to hide his face, because, let’s face it, people in real world are cruel. But, yeah, Zuko is Zuko so who knows how much he would actually care about it. Also, I guess Zuko would be that type of don’t-even-dare-to-look-at-MY-girlfriend:D
PS Mai is not angry at Zuko, she’s just unimpressed over someone she sees.
and..well, Toph is Toph:P

Here’s a quick sketch of what I assume Mai and Zuko’s daughter would look like. I mean damn girl you’re the product of the best genes in the Fire Nation.
zuko: well i did have a girlfriend… mai
sokka: that gloomy girl that sighs a lot?!
zuko: yeah… :D

Look at that smile. This is the only scene where Zuko smiles so widely and so happily. Look at the affectionate way he holds her. Look at the love in her eyes.
I don’t care what anybody says. Maiko may not be the most favorite pairing ever, but the sheer love and happiness they express around each other are unarguably real. I don’t care if it’s a cartoon. They are the only couple to break up and reunite, put aside personal differences and make self sacrifices for the other. They don’t get much time together, but the few scenes they do get wonderfully portray their feelings for one another. Despite all their differences, they always make up in the end with a bond stronger than ever before. This couple is beautiful.
I’ve said all I need to say. Bring on the hate, if you think you can even try to attempt to convince me otherwise.
too bad Zuko and Mai broke up in graphic novels, unless they got back together later on..
That was the third time they broke up, and I highly doubt Bryke would make a couple endgame only to have them permanently break up in a comic.
Ten kudos bucks says we still don’t know for sure after the finale, even though Maiko is one of my otps and I hope to God they’re canon.
